Deputy Cooper Funeral / Processional Info for Tuesday Morning

Tags: Deputy Bill Cooper Law Enforcement Sebastian County Sheriff's Office

Fort Smith and Sebastian County are grateful for the support from law enforcement agencies across Arkansas, Oklahoma and across our great nation the past several days.

We anticipate hundreds of officers will be arriving Monday afternoon and evening, for Corporal Bill Cooper’s visitation in Greenwood Monday evening, and for his memorial service Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Smith Convention Center.

Following the 10:00 a.m. service, the procession will take the following route out of the convention center parking lot:

West on Rogers to
3rd Street and
East on Garrison to
Rogers Avenue to
South on Greenwood Avenue to
Oak Cemetery

Since it’s not possible to put a timeframe on a funeral service, the recommendation is that downtown folks start looking for the procession sometime after 11:00 a.m. and, according to Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office, “maybe even 11:30 a.m.”

Another unknown is how many patrol units from across the region and around the nation will participate. It may take some time to line up the vehicles. With these two variables in mind, please be patient.

The  Fort Smith Board of Realtors invites us all to line the route as a way to pay tribute to Deputy Corporal Cooper, to support Hackett Police Chief Darrell Spells and all who are grieving.

Most importantly? Thank you.
