…inspires spirits after dark
Downtown Fort Smith Oktoberfest
October 22, 2016
7:00 a.m. through midnight
Just when we thought the festival season had ended in downtown Fort Smith, merchants and volunteers are throwing a big autumn bash so big that it spills over into the following Sunday morning, but only if that’s how you and your friends roll.
The fall fun begins at the Fort Smith Farmer’s Market AT 7:00 a.m. Bring the young ones because beginning at 9:00 a.m. kids can ride – no kidding – ponies. At 10:00 a.m. pick a pumpkin and show off your carving skills. We’ll see who has the best jack-o-lantern in the land.
Live music, featuring 357 begins at 10:30 a.m. At noon, automotive enthusiasts will see some eye-popping show cars at 8th and Garrison and art aficionados will delight in discovering a variety of works along downtown sidewalks. STEPS will feature a petting zoo from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
We’re seriously not done yet. Street music kicks off at 1:00 p.m. At dusk, we will fling open the doors to a haunted house nearby that may scare your socks off.
If that’s not your thing, downtown establishments serving spirits, beer, and wine will fill your commemorative cup from 7:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. with too many live music options to mention here.
Participating merchants will be offering special coupons, discounts, and other opportunities to save money while we celebrate the onset of a new season, downtown style, and support our local businesses.
Sound like fun? We have three requests:
- Keep up with all the happenings on the Downtown Fort Smith Facebook page.
- Circle October 22 on your calendars and plan to join us.
- Tell a friend.
